This tool records the section between your chosen start and end time directly inside your browser, using the same MediaRecorder technology built into Chrome, Edge and Firefox. Unlike most online video cutters, your video is never uploaded to a server - it stays on your device the entire time.
It's useful for shortening a long recording to the highlight you want to share, removing dead air from the start or end of a clip, or pulling a short segment out of a longer video for social media.
How to use the Video Trimmer
- Select a video file (MP4, WebM, MOV or OGG) or drop it into the box.
- Scrub the preview to the point you want, then press Use current time next to Start and End - or type the seconds directly.
- Choose WebM or MP4, then press Trim Video. The clip plays once while it's recorded, then download the result.
Why the video plays while trimming
Because there is no server involved, the browser has to actually play the selected section once to record it frame by frame - this is the same technique screen recorders use. A 15 second clip takes about 15 seconds to process. Watch the progress bar; when it reaches 100% your download is ready.
Output format
Pick WebM or MP4 from the dropdown before you trim. WebM plays natively in every modern browser, VLC and most video editors. MP4 is recorded directly when your browser supports it; if it doesn't, the tool automatically falls back to WebM and tells you so - it never silently mislabels the file.
